KOMODO Recordings has a long history of recording choirs. We have recorded many choirs of different types and sizes, from well-practiced multi-part harmony choirs with pipe organs to small amateur church groups. With our mobile recording van, our own studio, duplication and printing facilities we have everything you need to make a professional CD that captures the very best that your choir can produce.

Well before the booked date, we visit your suggested location for the recording to ensure that it is appropriate (preferably during a rehersal) This also enables us to check that any instruments intended to accompany the choir are in a fit state to feature on the CD. (The noises generated by old pianos that have never been noticed before become surprisingly obvious during a recording…) If necessary we can provide a weighted keyboard and amplifier for the session(s).

On the day of the recording, we arrive before the choir to set up so that the choir can turn up, warm up, and get straight into the recording. Our engineers are very conscious of a choirs' need for regular breaks, as a choirs' pitch can suffer progressively over long recording sesions.

We stay until the choirmembers either leave, disband or collapse on the floor, and although some choirs manage to get the recording finished in one day, we are prepared to split the recording into several sessions.

Most choral recordings can be completed on location, but some may require the later addition of a solo part or a voiceover.

KOMODO studios can cater for anything from a voiceover to a full rock band and is available for any additional parts for all of our choral finance scheme customers at no extra cost.

Although not absolutely necessary, conductors and representatives of the band are invited to attend the mixing sessions, so we can ensure your absolute satisfaction with the end result.

Mastering is the last process that a recording undergoes before duplication. KOMODO offers mastering as a separate service for anyone wanting the best sound out of an already mixed tape or CD, but we also include it in all of our own recordings. Once the mixes are complete, our mastering engineer ensures that the different songs work well side by side, and that the final CD plays back faithfully on as many systems as possible. This is achieved by an objective experienced professional using the latest in sound technology. The process can range from a simple job of level changes and subtle EQ to quite radical surgical procedures to bring lifeless muddy recordings up to their full potential.

You can either design your own, or we can help you put together graphics for your CD. KOMODO takes care of the whole process.

If you are designing your own graphics, please submit the element of the design (layers) seperately, as we often need to make small changes which cannot be made if the text is embedded in the background.

Please submit your graphic ideas in the following formats (preferably PC):

.tif | .jpg | .bmp | .gif | .psd

KOMODO offers Cassette and CD duplication, including on-body printing. A number of CDs with full graphics are included in some of our finance schemes. For details call 02892 688 285.

KOMODO offers Sound Reinforcement to our choral customers at reduced prices. We are fully mobile and can cater for any type of concert that a choir might be involved in. Thanks to our responsible approach to sound reinforcement, we can promise to ‘reinforce' your sound for the audience, and NOT detract from what is going on on-stage or deafen everyone.
